boo, bah, bindia

"No, silly billy, I'm just pretending."

If India lose against Sri Lanka today, what are the odds that these sportsmen would turn up for team practice at least as often as they do for Brylcreem photoshoots?

Given favourable odds on the above, might it be better for Indian cricket in the long run to hope that India lose today?

At a guess, what percentage of sensible Indians will wish they were Sri Lankan for a day?

Just how cruel is fate to do this to Sachin Tendulkar?

(Everyone who at one point of time asked me why I liked Italian football heard that it was for the drama. Calcio has nothing on Pakistani cricket, though. I give up on you, Luciano Moggi.)

  1. All that's left for it to go completely bonkers is if its revealed that Woolmer was telling Inzy he thought the Ireland match was fixed, causing Inzy to lose it and jump him in a fit of rage (a la the 'Aloo' incident). That would be it, then.

  2. I'm frankly horrified. Back in the day when I was a rabid India fan I used to hate the man because of his laptop and how his team (then South Africa) managed to wipe the floor with just about everyone. It's a shock to know that he's dead - but the stories surrounding the death are themselves big enough for a surreal, violent Irvine Welsh-y novel.

  3. True. Actually, what would really have it go down the potty-pot, is if it turned ol' Mushy decided to do order a Litvinenko-style hit on Bob. After all, if Putin could get away with poisoning a third of London, why can't he? And it's free publicity too.
Anyways, THE match is about to start.

  4. Back in the day (as I wrote in my last post) I used to be a rabid SA fan. So it was so so so surreal to hear the news of his death. He totally should have won the 99 WC.
    Bloody Aussies.

  5. 99 WC SA-Aus match was such a heartbreak !! that for a couple of days i lost my faith in the whole "good things happen to deserving people..." .. I could feel for Zulu a.k.a Lance Klusener.., everyone was besotted by him that WC...

Anyways, losing will do india more good, otherwise they will collectively choke in the Super 8 anyways..!!

  8. But India being what India is, the Brylcream ads will only subside for a bit... they'll be back around the Bangladesh tour, which will be drummed up to be this big grudge rematch. And I shall watch it. Which is sad.

    *sigh*
